The Detroit City Council recently passed a Community Outreach Ordinance. The text of the ordinance is here.

In the presentation viewable here, it says:

HOW MUST THE NOTICE BE PROVIDED?

• The Community Advisory Councils (CACs) are community
elected bodies created by the Detroit City Charter.
• It was crucial that the CACs be notified of the outreaches to
participate in the process and spread the word.

and

WHAT MUST BE IN THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH REPORT?

If provided, a report from the established Community Advisory Council representing the impacted neighborhood.

So we will be learning more about this in the days ahead.
